ENERGY STAR® for New Homes:
To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are more energy efficient and operate better than homes built to code.
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR:
Participating auditors and contractors register with this EPA program for existing homes on a state level. It offers a whole-house approach to improving efficiency and comfort. A participating Home Performance contractor can evaluate your home using state-of-the-art equipment, recommend comprehensive improvements that will yield the best results and help you to get the work done.
